St. Albans
Object: intaglio print
Author/Creator:  Robert Blemmell Schnebbelie
Date: 1809

This print is of St. Albans, with the Abbey in the background and a horse-drawn wagon carrying hay in the foreground. The site of St. Albans, which has had several churches, is the oldest site of continuous Christian worship in Britain.

The focus of this treatment was to stabilize the print and to improve its aesthetic appearance while incorporating techniques and practices learned during ongoing paper conservation seminars.
