Murakkaa (accordion form)

This album employs the text of assorted hadīth which are collections of sayings of the prophet Muhammad.

 

Ten 'panels' (consisting of written area and border pieces mounted on another leaf) are hinged together in an accordion format that form five openings. The binding opens vertically, with the spine at the top edge. The sheets are joined at the fore-edge with leather hinges, forming a “fold”.
